*Member Spotlight – Jose Rivera*

Jose has been a member at Exit 153 CrossFit for about 3 months and he has made incredible progress in both strength and gymnastic skills. His consistency and dedication certainly will carry over into many aspects in his life. Please take a few minutes to read more about Jose.

153: Give us a little background on yourself.
Jose: I am 17 years old and I live in Lyndhurst. I’m currently a senior at St. Joseph Regional High School.

153: What hobbies or interests (other than CrossFit) do you have?
Jose: I’ve played competitive sports for most of my life, baseball has been my primary sport. I like going down the shore, hanging out with my friends, and working out.

153: What got you interested in CrossFit? Why do you do it (i.e., what are your health goals)?
Jose: As an athlete I’ve mostly done speed and agility training but felt like I needed more intensity. After watching the CrossFit games I knew I wanted to be a part of it and ultimately compete. I love CrossFit because I’m a very competitive person and I feel like it challenges me. I already feel stronger, there is nothing like CrossFit.

153: What’s your proudest accomplishment at CrossFit?
Jose: Gaining hip mobility and reaching a deeper squat.

153: What’s your favorite CrossFit exercise? What’s your least favorite?
Jose: My favorite CrossFit excercises are deadlifts and pull-ups, my least favorite are overhead squats.

153: What do you like the most about being a member at Exit 153 CrossFit?
Jose: The coaches are very encouraging and they push me to work harder towards achieving my fitness goals. Exit 153 CrossFit feels like my second home, it’s such a fun environment, and we all work hard as a TEAM.

Thanks, Jose! We are sure that you will continue to inspire those who work out at 153!
